    So, if you say that the current SOC (standard of care) is sub Q fluids, does this improve anything over that? Cats are very cooperative to receiving Sub Q fluids, in my experience. It isn't really that expensive either. You get prescription from vet for the fluid and the needles, and you buy it from Chewy. And it REALLY does work, properly done.

    I am feeding it to my 20 year old male cat. He always had a real awfully smelly poop. Plus a diabetic for many years. I have started him on hydra pack. I am not seeing the dreaded stinky poop. Q - can this constipate him? Q - his stomach seems a quite swollen? My cats are all old as am i. However would like a few pointers what to watch out for. Many thanks He has access to water i change twice a day.

    My cat is 18 and still very healthy. She is on a low dose of meds for hyperthyroidism although she doesn't show any signs of it. Only her bloodwork detected it. She has been on a raw diet for 15 years and has always been a good eater. She began to eat well one day and not so well the next day so I began to add a bit if this and that to her meals to entice her to eat. That worked but then a friend introduced me to this product. A game changer. She absolutely loves it. She will eat it plain or mixed in with her other food. I haven't really noticed her drinking any more water since starting this since she has never been a big water drinker since she eats raw, and also because I often add water to her food at the advice of her vet. I am happy to have found this product. I know if and when the time comes when she stops wanting it, there will be other issues going on.

      Pour it in a bowl and hope kitty drinks it! Refrigerate unused portions, and throw away any leftover after 12 hours. My vet gave me a packet to try with my early-stage CRD (kidney disease) cat. She said that people who were having to do daily sub-q fluid injections were able to do them every OTHER day with the use of this. **Fingers crossed, my boy will like it! I only wish it had been around when I lost my little Pepper to crystals in 2012...

    Well, everyone, I have a cat that has a constant bowel movement issue. Having her brought in for weekly or monthly "clean-outs," and sub-cutaneous hydration is not affordable or well for the cat. I am trying this with the OM variety of foods and lactulose at 3mL daily. Let's see if it helps as I start this plan on 1/09/2023. As an engineer writing and performing lab test plans, I will reply with the monthly results. I do have to work another part-time job to afford these treatments. 8-) Mathew (Massachusetts).

    Most of this video is about doctors and very little behind the science of hydracare. This starts at 3 min 38 seconds. The video claims that the nutrients in HC decrease urine osmolarity and urine specific gravity. These measures both mean the urine was more dilute and one would be very unlikely to decrease without the other doing the same thing. How do you know that decreases in urine concentration is related to increased intracellular water? And how does this help a cat in the polyurea phase of kidney disease? What are the nutrients? More protein would not be beneficial for cats with CRD. Glycerin may not be good for kidney disease or diabetes. How much did the water output increase? If water output matched water intake, what good is hydracare? Very little science here, mostly advertising.

    I have an 18 Yr old male cat who is diabetic and now is showing start of kidney dysfunction. He is just under 6kg in weight. He gets very stressed out to monitor his bloods so we are moving to the patch sensor. He also hates to be hydrated in the clinic or subcutaneously at home. He is only on wet food. I tried the hydra care and he just loves it. I just add a bit around his food plate. Could you kindly advise on how much he should have of hydro care daily? Dr H Al-Ahmar

    I bought the bullet and purchased this for my senior cat who's been on a vet prescribed diet for early kidney disease. While she loves and devours one pouch in seconds, it's too soon to tell if her levels will improve in the coming months. The one thing I want to point out is that this "supplement" is FAR TOO EXPENSIVE. Going by their directions, I'd be spending almost $100 a month to feed her the recommended 2 pouches per day. As it is, her prescribed food (also from Purina) is expensive enough! So while I want to give her quality of life and possibly improve her kidney function, I'm not sure that I can justify the expense, especially when she's already on a specially formulated wet food diet.

    As well as this video is put together I think you guys are missing the point entirely. This is marketing a nutrient rich water suppliment to help hydrate your cat while at the same time feeding them the dry inappropriate kibble diet that puts them in a constant state of dehydration in the first place. Biologically cats are meant to get the majority of their hydration from their food, they aren't meant to be major water drinkers. How they drink is not the root issue here. Your marketing a product to bandaid a problem caused by another product instead of just changing the original product to be more species appropriate. Cats are not meant to be eating a dry kibble, it is more convenient for owners to feed a dry kibble but it is not what they are designed to live on. Stop feeding them an inappropriate diet that is causing these huge problems and there will be no need for these new products.

    Bought the small and mini, sensitive skin for my adult 8+ old dog who had been feeding on RC Sensitive skin (but been out of stock for almost 2 weeks, so I got no other choice), but it has been 12 days since I bought the Purina pro plan, my dog refused to eat it. The smell not so appetizing, wonder how does it taste. Now, had to import the RC-sensitive skin all the way from another district. May be Purina can improve the smell and taste as you know, dog's smell are better than any other animals and they knew if the food is nice or not. THis is my first time tried out Purina, and I am not really satisfied. In term of price, Purina are way too pricy compare to RC.

    Proving, once and for all, that those dog and cat "greeders" (I won't call them breeders) who peddle their animals as "hypoallergenic" are LYING or IGNORANT (usually both). As the study plainly points out, since allergens have NOTHING to do with hair coat, there is NO SUCH THING as a hypoallergenic dog or cat.

    • @clairebeck7502
      @clairebeck7502 3 роки тому

      you’re right! no such thing as hypoallergenic, but there are breeds that 1) shed less, meaning the transfer of the allergens to the environment is reduced and 2) produce less allergens than other breeds. i’m allergic to both cats and dogs, and my mini goldendoodle who doesn’t shed doesn’t give me a reaction! a lot of it depends on how severe a person’s allergies to animals are :) hopefully that helps you see it from another perspective!

    Do you know if you can give these supplements in cycles? Meaning, a cycle of 1 month every 3 months? Or it defeats the purpose? Because it can be very costly if you have more than a cat and they need several sachets per day. I am also thinking of syringing it because my cats don't eat or drink in one sitting. Thanks in advance.

    • @kmdn1
      @kmdn1 3 роки тому

      It would make more sense, if you need to save on costs, to just decrease the frequency of giving it, rather than stopping it and and starting it again. Like rather than 1 month every 3 months for each cat, just do sachets for each cat on the same day every three days or so.

    • @lornocford6482
      @lornocford6482 11 місяців тому

      I'd just give it to the cats that actually need it because of their health status. Instead of one pouch a day, give half a pouch a day. Rinse the pouch with water and mix in to get every last bit out. I'd even dilute it with a whole pouch of water. That way the cat will make the effort to drink it all because of the flavour therefore drinking more water in the process.

      @@carlagarzia7327 animals are living beings like you not a pair of shoes or purse! You can NEVER and SHOULD NOT in good conscious ever purchase an animal!!! 👿👿👿 That’s part of the human programming and conditioning we have all been part of since birth but is pure evil if you REALLY think about it so we all better start shaking all those wrong beliefs. Adopt and save one instead, they are all beautiful. 💕💕💕💕🙌😻

    Way too expensive for most. Also how does this impact the cats health and immune system?

    Actual recommendation starts at 1:38. FortiFlora is good for those pets that have digestive problems manifesting in diarrhea.

    Would love to feed my cats this, but who can afford it? :( I have a cat allergy, and this would be great. I have two cats and just live with it.

    Thank you so much for this research and new product, Purina! I have a senior cat with early CRF. She could greatly benefit from such a product. I am in the process of buying some Hydra Care from my vet to see if she likes it. Crossing fingers she will! Also want to thank you for the Prescription OM (Overweight Management) product for cats. My big male has done well on it, has lost a bit of weight and enjoys the taste of both the wet formulas and the dry. We cat owners trust you to help keep our furry family members healthy and happy. Keep fighting for them! 😻

      It should be available now from your Veterinarian. Also, try: ProPlanVetDirect.com. I think it will be there around April 20

      Diane Matuszewski Vets can now order it from their Purina prescription diet supplier. I live in Oklahoma and my vet now has it for purchase. I am in the process of getting some for my senior CRF cat.

    Here recently my dog kept passing gas that smelled very very bad. It smelled as though he had to poop each time I would get up and offer him a little time outdoor in the back, but he'll just go and stand in the doorway and look at me as though he's asking me do you need a little time outside? Then walk away. Before all of that my cats everytime poop shortly after they each their food. Their poop was very offensive and I delt with it for sometime. So I found out about Probiotics for pets, which I didn't know about. I went to my Vet's office and told them about my concerns , she told me about Fortiflora. And man that was a game changer. I gave each of them( cats) a half of pack and sprinkled it over their food foe a couple of days as she instructed. I can noticed a big change in the smell of their poop, now don't get wrong it still smell a little which is to be expected,but it's no where l like it use to be. Back to my dog I gave him an whole pack ONCE over some wet food ,once again a game changer. I no longer get the silent killer treatment. Now ALL is well at Camp Kate's house. So yes Fotiflora probiotics did and still is working for my babies.
